Ford had a tendency to calling Bill his muse. It was, in Bill's humble opinion, a well-earned title; One he deserved.

And, although he would never admit it... Ford really didn't need Bill to make art.

There's only so many interdimensional bars, space mom and pop shops, and authority centers you can raid and burden before you feel tired of it all. That's when Bill would resort to his palace, the Mindscape. That's where his real entertainment began, seeing the creations of others and how he could easily distort their most personal thoughts.

Yet, somehow, Sixer was different for Bill.

He didn't need to manipulate, or even make his presence known, to enjoy Ford's dreams. He simply watched in awe as this human, he had to remind himself, HUMAN made such beautiful imagery in his brain. Detailed and complex meteor showers, large libraries of scarily accurate knowledge, and Bill's favorite...

Vast, endless galaxies.

Floating through the space that Ford had made himself, even without being off Earth— It was a masterpiece. Every constellation down to a point, a serene silence keeping company, and the stars. Bill couldn't comprehend how magnificent they were. Dainty yet bold explosions of light bursting and disappearing like a disco, every color imaginable to human, every experience having true to tale math behind it.

Bill had never seen anything so brilliant.

Yet, the most curious of Ford's mind was the center. Just next to his conscious, Bill could see... Himself. The radiant, glowing center piece of it all, with Ford at his knees in front of him.

He was Ford's light. And Ford, his.

I am thinking about how Edwin asked Charles if he'd been crying, when they were in the Devlin house. Something about it seemed to me like this wasn't something Edwin was unfamiliar with.

So please picture, it's the early 90s, and for two ghost boys things are going pretty swell. They have their freedom, this blossoming friendship, and a detective agency they're starting up. But also remember that Charles is a 16 year old boy. No one can see him or hear him. He can never go home. He'll never hug his mom again. His friends killed him. He can't sleep. Or sometimes it's the little things, like not being able to taste his favourite foods and drinks. He is 16 forever now, and in those early years sometimes it hits him that he's dead, and the grief just knocks him down.

Edwin may never be comfortable with the emotional outbursts but he is understanding. Edwin didn't have time to grieve his own death, and he has no one on Earth to miss, but Charles had a life, and he had people, and things that brought him comfort that are beyond him now. So when Charles cries and grieves his own death, and says it's not fair, Edwin doesn't argue. He just tries to be there for his new friend as best as he can.

im having so many smitten thoughts. i think hes like broken in that like. they're both devotion and obsession. like smitten talks about love and matters of the heart and he waxes poetic about romance and intimacy and also he forces you to tear open your chest to show the object of his affections your still beating heart and stabs you in the heart after you kill the damsel.

AND YOU KNOW WHO ALSO KILLS YOU FOR THE PRINCESS. BROKEN!!!

broken lives for her, much like smitten. he says outright that he loves her in apotheosis. he gets angry at you for slaying her. hero literally starts wrestling with him for control of the blade as he tries to kill you for her.

smitten and broken parallels keep me UP AT NIGHT!!! INSANE!!!!! it is so fucked up they never interact directly (i think) smitten would be such a broken defender. the only motherfucker who gets him.

like i literally think about them so much. i think the voices all have a love-hate relationship going on except smitten and broken. i dont think there wld be much hate there.
